Wow. 2012 already? Seems impossible. Amelia is 9 months now and almost crawling, eating table food (not just pureed anymore) has 2 bottom teeth and 3 popping through on top. She says "mamma" although we seem to think this has nothing to do with me as she only says this when she's wanting more Cheerios..hahaha. She is changing so fast and we already can see the toddler in her and her charming personality is in full bloom. We are no longer using her bouncer which is bittersweet since we adored the bouncer most out of all the baby furniture/needs. At 9 months she sits at the 75th percentile weighing 22lbs. She's a solid little thing, quite round and quite lovely.
Maggie is changing a lot at almost 10. Lots of big questions recently. A few months she asked me when she could start wearing a bra and at the dinner table the other night she asked us when she could start shaving her legs. The following day I gave it much thought about my timing and my approach to her on "puberty" Ah, such a fun word and even more so, fun time to go through ;) I decided to pick her up a very popular book The Body Book For Girls and go from there. While I sat enjoying my date out with Amelia and my coffee I flipped through the pages. I knew Maggie would be open to talking about things. She is a pretty confident little girl BUT I wondered if I was actually ready to do this. I really did not prepare for this. She was very excited about the book had lots of questions and is really eager to go through all the stages - to my surprise. I think my timing was perfect and I think the whole thing went over really well. Yesterday was a day I'll never forget. I hope she won't either.
Sam is getting so TALL. I'm having a bit of a hard time with the thought of him turning 7 soon. I did with Maggie as well. 1st grade is such a big year. So transitional, so many changes. They just seem to be less attached, being more independent and because of that, more self assured. Although Sam is not as independent and confident as Maggie was at his age he's certainly more we've noticed this year. He is doing really well in school and has advanced so much with his reading & letter formation since the beginning of the school year. We love his teacher - she's such a nice person. She has a very warm personality and Sam certainly is responding to her well and enjoys her class. My goal with Sam this year is to get him to sleep in his own bed. As much as we love him in ours, it's way past time.
It's going to be a very busy spring for us with their birthdays coming up. Amelia will turn 1 on March 21, Maggie 10 on April 23 and Sam 7 on April 19... WOW
